There's plenty of parking at Nebraska Crossing, the Gretna Outlet Mall. And soon, there will be no reason to be here. The remaining tenants have been told to move out.

The signs say it all. Posted on the door of the Jerky Factory in Gretna, is a sign that tells customers that they will be closing. Their last day open for business is set for December 29th.

Tyler Schmale works as a cashier and he says tenants don't know much. But what they do know is something is in the works.

The same goes for workers at The Bargain Mart down the way.

“We're kind of doing the liquidation sale so that we can get rid of everything in the store,” said Sara Hassler.

Hassler is working to clear the Bargain Mart.

“The last 5 years people have kind of came and go. Little mom and pop stores. When Carter’s and Oshkosh left that kind of hurt our business,” said Hassler.

Also given 30 days to clean house, they are relying on the liquidation sale to help with the move.

“We were kind of one of the last ones standing and now everybody is going to be gone,” said Hassler.

Property managers couldn't comment on the issues. Instead they referred WOWT to the developer, Rod Yates, who didn't return our calls by news time.

In the meantime, businesses are doing their best to move forward.

“I think we'll be working through the holidays and try to get everything taken down. We’ll be scouting places, see what we can do, see if we can't go somewhere else,” said Hassler.

WOWT reached out to Gretna Mayor, Jim Timmerman. He says the city is still in negotiations with the property owner. They will hold a public forum on December 8th at Gretna City Hall.
