A before- and after-school program will soon open at Plattsmouth Middle School. This federally-funded program will provide extra help for students in reading, mathematics and other studies.
The Cassgram reports the Nebraska State Board of Education approved a federal grant for Plattsmouth Community Schools in the amount of $113,625 for the middle school program.
The primary goals of 21st Century Community Learning Centers are improved student learning, increased social benefits and positive behavioral changes as well as increased family and community engagement in Nebraska schools.
