Golf Cart Incident Causes Injuries

Golf cart incident causes injuries. It happened about 11:30pm during the Cedar Creek Days street dance. The street dance was held in the ball park area and officers observed a golf cart leave the dance area. Several minutes later, witnesses advised deputies that the golf cart had struck several people in the dance area.

The Cassgram deputies were able to locate the golf cart. The driver was identified as Brittney Bauers, age 23 of Weeping Water, said Sheriff Brueggemann.

The two injured parties were Kirsti Alexander, age 20, and Owen Dewey, age 21, both of Omaha. Witnesses advised that the golf cart was driven in a careless manner and had run over the parties, said Brueggemann. Alexander and Dewey were transported by rescue squad to Midlands Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Bauers was issued a citation for careless driving.
