A girder on a new pedestrian bridge being built near the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln slipped Friday afternoon, forcing a halt to railroad traffic that travels under the bridge.
The city said the girder slipped about 1 p.m. It is the middle of three that holds up the north side of the new West Haymarket Pedestrian Bridge now under construction.
Cranes were moved to the site to support the girder so rail traffic can resume. Structural engineers will check the girder and decide if it needs to be removed.
