It's a new school year for kids across the metro.
For some, it's also a new school.
Kids and parents filed in to Gateway Elementary School this morning.
They were even greeted by the Central Eagles mascot.
The district has been working to build the school for around the last three years.
Today, finally getting in and starting school at the building, was a big step for students and staff.
“We're very excited. It's been kind of a long wait for this building to get done and get ready for students, but it is ready, and the people that have been coming into the school, just think this is the greatest place in the world for their kids, which it is,” says Ray Perrigo, Principal of the school.
There are around 800 students at the school.
To make sure students were comfortable at the new building, the school recently held an open house.
