Huge customer base

  • C stores sell 80% of America’s fuel so customers have to make a pit stop
  • The U.S. has 148,126 C-stores; 1 for every 2,000 people.
  • The average C-store has 1,100 customers a day or more than 400,000 a year.

Ideal Customer profile

  • The average C-store customer is 18-34 – the target age for many quick serve restaurants.
  • Surveys show these customers want to get in and out quickly and the average transaction is 3 – 4 minutes. – perfect for the on-the go meal!
  • In a recent survey, 2/3 of C-store customers say they shop in the store at least once a week. 7 out of 10 say they buy food or drink items- so they’re disposed to buy food. Instead of chips and candy, why not a meal?

Imagine gathering up the family to sit down and enjoy a quick meal - at your local gas station?

This is becoming a huge trend locally and nationally as more local convenience stores team up with quick service restaurants to offer families a quick meal from a brand they recognize.

Blimpie and a number of other fast food restaurants are turning convenience stores in our area into franchises and it’s a win win for both businesses.

Convenience stores don’t make much money on gas and with fuel prices so high people don’ t have any extra money to spend inside the store on food and drink. Fast food restaurants crave convenience store customers who want a quick meal on the run from a brand they recognize.

“Surveys show convenience store customers will spend on snacks but are hesitant to buy a meal because they don’t think of convenience stores as a place to sit down and eat,” says Jillian Clothier, Director of Franchise Development for Kahala, Blimpie’s parent company.
