Garage Doors Now Controlled By Apps

That's just about an app for everything, and now a big convenience can keep your home safe. People around the metro are using internet applications to open and close their garage doors.

More and more companies are coming out with applications to control their own devices. The Craftsman Assurelink Garage Opener just needs an internet connection and downloaded program to control garages from anywhere. Some also can tell you when they've been left open.

"The piece of mind knowing that your garage door is closed or opened, they'll tell you if it gets opened if you didn't allow it to be open,” said Logan Epps, a Sales Associate at Sears. "If your kids ever get locked out of your house, forget their key or maybe the battery died on it and they're used to using that, you can open it from there."

Daniel Karen has can now open and close his garage doors from anywhere he has an internet connection through a phone application. He runs Crescendo Home Theater, a home theater and security company, and added the app to the security system in his home.

"Safer and it gives me piece of mind and my wife more importantly,” said Karen. "Garage doors are an example of how you can add to an existing system and really improve your quality of life."

The Craftsman Assurelink Garage Opener can be used through an iPhone or Android App.
