Nearly 200 people attended the funeral of one of two abducted Iowa girls whose remains were later found. The service for Elizabeth Collins was held Saturday at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.
Elizabeth was laid to rest in a wooden casket inside a burial vault painted pink. Pink and purple balloons were later released into the air.
Elizabeth's mother, Heather Collins, said the service offered closure for her daughter's three siblings, but she doesn't think there will be closure for others until a person is found that may be involved in her daughter's death.
Elizabeth and her cousin, Lyric Cook-Morrissey, disappeared last July while riding their bikes by Meyers Lake in Evansdale. Hunters found their bodies in a wooded area in December.
A private funeral service for Lyric was held last month.
Construction has begun on a permanent memorial near where the girls were last seen alive.
