New Iowa State University President Steven Leath says fundraising for the institution will be one of his priorities, and he's setting a first-year goal of raising $100 million.
Speaking on the Iowa Public Television program, "Iowa Press," Leath acknowledged raising that much money will be a challenge because the school just finished a large capital campaign. But Leath says he's had success in the past in building public-private partnerships.
Leath comes to Iowa State from North Carolina.
He says there will be management changes at Iowa State. He says
he'll pick someone to run the university on a day-to-day basis
while he focuses more on external issues.
