Douglas County Sheriff deputies have ticketed a teenage driver involved in a head-on collision Sunday afternoon for DUI - Drugs.
Investigators tell WOWT Six News that the driver, Christian Lacey, 18, of Bennington, was allegedly huffing and driving when he smashed into an SUV Sunday afternoon near 168th and Hartman Avenue.
Deputies tell 6 News that passengers told investigators that Lacy was huffing an aerosol can as he drove and passed it around to the other two teens in the pickup.
Experts say huffing such inhalants can have intoxicating effects.
Lacy was headed northbound on 168th Street according to investigators. One car in the opposite direction swerved out of the way as he crossed the center line and he then collided with the next car -- an SUV in the southbound lane. Lindsey Anderson, 26, was the driver of the SUV.
Joshua Clough, 18, was one of the passengers in the pickup along with a 17-year-old male. At the scene, it appeared they were moving a couch that was in the back of the pickup.
All 4 were taken to the hospital. Two were initially in critical condition Sunday afternoon. As of Tuesday, Anderson was listed in fair condition.
Sheriff investigators said none of the injuries appeared life threatening.
