Fort Peck Topic of Plains Seminar

The Fort Peck Indian Reservation is the topic of the March installment of the seminar for Great Plains studies.

Dennis J. Smith is an associate professor of History and Native American studies at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

He will discuss Fort Peck Assiniboine stories at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Great Plains Art Museum in Lincoln.

Smith is an enrolled Assiniboine member from the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Reservation from Montana. He earned his Ph.D.
at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

This is the third seminar in a series chosen to complement the March 28-30 symposium, "1862-2012: The Making of the Great Plains," sponsored by the Center for Great Plains Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
