Football Team Shows Support

Wearing pink on the football field is a sign of strength for this team.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and the MAIA Patriots 11-year old team want to show their support to women that have survived or are currently battling this disease.

For all of their games in October, the Patriots will be wearing pink socks and pink wristbands.

In addition, for this Sunday's game, Darlene Kersey, the current Mrs. Omaha, will be there for the coin toss, and all of the women attending the game who are breast cancer survivors will be encouraged to join the boys on the field for the coin toss.

The Patriots play at 1:30 at the LaVista Sports Complex, located one block south of 66th and Harrison.
