The Class A Championship trophy has a home at Millard North; however, its journey wasn't an easy one.

Omaha North's football program is coached by Larry Martin. He says the emotional roller coaster of Monday night's game continues for him and many of his players.

The Vikings had a chance to force overtime, but his kicker pulled a 32-yard field-goal attempt wide, left with 13 seconds in the game. Martin says his player didn't make it to school on Tuesday.

"Conner is such a great competitor and he's going to be fine," said Martin.

Millard North's coach Fred Petito understands how Conner is feeling. However, he can't stop smiling, remembering the 46 yard touchdown pass that put his team up 17 to 14; the score needed to win the game. "It's a relief and it's a joy," said Petito. "It's just great to see our young men get smiles on their faces from something they've earned."

Gross High School in Bellevue will take on Norris on Tuesday night at Memorial Stadium for the Class B Championship game. Gross High junior Meredith McMullen says the students aren't the only ones excited for the game. "Actually one of our teachers, our English teacher, she just let us watch the Simpsons. She knew that we weren't going to be paying attention. She is excited too."

The energy is so contagious, many predict the whole school will show in Lincoln.
