Mills County Iowa public health officials say they are ready for the coming flu season.
Vaccinations are available at multiple locations throughout Mills County including local Pharmacies, Physician’s Offices and the Mills County Public Health Clinics.
Every Iowan over 6 months of age is encouraged receive the flu vaccine.
Higher risk groups include pregnant women, children – especially those younger than 2 years of age, older adults – especially those age 65 and over; individuals with medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes and chronic lung disease.
Mills County Public Health is offering several types of vaccine at their clinics including a “High Dose” recommended for those age 65 and over and VFC funded vaccine that is available at no charge for qualifying children ages 6 mo. – 18 yrs.
Charges for flu vaccine vary depending upon your provider. Mills Co. Public Health is charging $45 for the High Dose Flu Vaccine; $25 for the Regular Flu Vaccine and $85.00 for Pneumonia Vaccinations. Upcoming clinic dates at Mills County Public Health include:
