Flood risk assessment released
A collaborative project between the US Army Corps of Engineers, Nebraska Department of Natural Resources, Lower Platte South NRD, the City of Louisville and the Village of Cedar Creek has been initiated to assess the risk in Louisville and Cedar Creek.
This effort will provide the communities of Louisville and Cedar Creek with vital planning information, assist in directing efforts to reduce flood risk and flood insurance costs, and provide technical data necessary for potential funding of flood mitigation projects, says a news release.
The Cassgram reports representatives from the USACE and NDNR will be performing field assessments and engineering surveys including the first floor elevation of buildings located within the 100 year floodplain. These surveys will be conducted during October and November this year.
