Five people have applied for an open county judgeship in northeast Nebraska.
The state Judicial Nominating Commission will hold a public hearing on the applicants Feb. 25 at the Madison County Courthouse in Madison. Commission members will review all applicants for the office and take testimony from the public.
The applicants are Patrick Carney, Michael Long, Dennis Morland and David Ptak, all of Norfolk; and Daniel Bracht, of West Point.
The vacancy is due to the resignation of Seventh Judicial District County Judge Richard Krepela.
