More information on house fire in the early morning hours Tuesday at 8415 Dawson Court at Beaver Lake. Murray Fire Chief Jim Daly said a bedroom was fully involved in flames as Murray units arrived on scene. Murray and Plattsmouth firefighters were able to knock down the flames quickly and vent the house, limiting fire damage to that room and to the ceiling and a wall in the basement. Smoke damage to the rest of the house was limited, he said.
The Cassgram reports the fire appears to have started in the basement ceiling and wall area, Daly said. The cause is still listed as undetermined.
Daly said the son of the owners was in that bedroom and was awakened and alerted the family to the fire. The family was already outside the structure when the alarm/fire security monitoring company called the house.
Firefighters had to deal with icy conditions from water spray and one firefighter was taken to the hospital for an injury suffered in a fall. He was treated and released.
A pet rabbit in the basement was saved.
