Fire Destroys Iowa Home
An Iowa family is left to pick up the pieces after a fire completely guts their home.
Around 1:30 firefighters from several cities responded to the home on Old Lincoln Highway in Crescent.
A neighbor, who is also the homeowner's brother, says the fire started in the garage and spread to the rest of the modular home.
Three people were inside at the time, one person woke up to what they thought was a burglary. When she realized it was a fire she woke up her father and daughter.
The family did lose three pets, a dog and two cats.
Fire crews from Crescent, Modale, Logan, Missouri Valley and Underwood all responded.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
