Lincoln police say 56-year old Joseph Gentert was upset with another man, accusing him of drinking his R&R Canadian Whiskey. So he went to the man’s apartment near 16th & C Thursday armed with a butter knife.

The victim says Gentert tried to stab him with the knife, so in response the victim punched Gentert several times in the face. You can see the results of those punches in the attached mug shot.

Police describe Gentert as being drunk and bloody when they arrived. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for a broken nose. He was then taken to jail and booked for 2nd degree assault and use of a butter knife weapon to commit a felony.
