The last person convicted in the 2011 murder of Kris Winters was sentenced Friday for his role in the crime.
Twenty-four-year-old Drake Northrop was sentenced to 10 years in prison. He plead no contest to conspiracy to commit a felony. The plea deal was in exchange for his testimony against the others involved in the crime.
Northrop was the driver when Winters was killed in a botched robbery at his home near 51st and U streets. Ryan Elseman, Nicholas Ely and Marqus Patton are all serving life sentences.
The other person involved, Emily Gusman, was sent to the Youth Detention Center. At the time of the murder, she was 15 years old. It is alleged that she came to the door of the Winters home with a friend wanting to buy marijuana. She then reportedly sent a text, giving the other suspects the go ahead to get inside.
