The Farmers Market at Charles Drew Health Center, 2915 Grant Street, returns Wednesday, July 10.
For the third year, WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons will be accepted at the Charles Drew Farmers Market, which will be open 3 to 5:30 p.m. every Wednesday through October 2, and the general public is welcome.
“The Charles Drew Farmers Market has established itself as a North Omaha summertime favorite,” said Mary Balluff, Douglas County Health Department Division Chief for Health and Community Nutrition. “This year it will only get better.”
WIC participants will be able to use Farmers Market Nutrition Coupons to buy the locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs, for their families. The Omaha Farmers Market at the Charles Drew Health Center will maintain approximately 4 to 6 vendors selling eligible items.
New to this year’s farmers market, the Salem Children’s Corner from Salem Baptist Church will sponsor a lemonade stand to provide healthy refreshment options while you shop.
The Charles Drew Farmers Market accepts cash, credit cards, WIC Farmers Market Nutrition, and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program Coupons and SNAP. A $5 SNAP matching program is offered the entire Farmers Market season at Charles Drew. Just swipe your SNAP card for $5 and get $10 in tokens, or swipe for a higher amount and get a $5 bonus.

The Omaha Farmers Market in the Old Market is open Saturdays through Oct. 19 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the Omaha Farmers Market at Aksarben Village is open Sundays through Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
