Nebraska fans were still talking Sunday about the Huskers second half melt down against UCLA at Memorial Stadium.
John Martinez, an NU fan who flew out from Los Angeles to watch the game told Channel 6 News, "I was worried at the end of the second quarter to be honest. And then in the 3rd quarter UCLA moved the ball and just kept going. I was in shock and you felt the energy leave that wonderful stadium and that's what really hurt."
Martinez added, "I like Bo Pelini, his fire. He may have to make some changes on his staff but I think he's done a great job."
jacob Hansen was still wearing his Husker tee shirt on Sunday..
He too was at a loss in trying to explain why his favorite team was outplayed in the second half.
"We have not been able to tackle for a couple of years now," said Hansen. "I was definitely disappointed because we had 21-3 lead. We could have had 'em but our defense just didn't make plays."
Tony Madison, who grew up in Nebraska cheering for the Huskers had stronger feelings about a change he feels should be made on offense.
"In the second half they didn't show up," observed Madison. "Maybe they need to get rid of Tim Beck, that's how I feel"
Beck is in his third year as offensive coordinator for Nebraska. NU was held scoreless in the second half and generated only 130 yards of offense.
Nebraska is home this Saturday against South Dakota State.
