Lincoln police have arrested a 17-year-old male for allegedly stabbing a 5-year-old girl. They say Paris Wells was visiting the girl’s family when, for an unknown reason, he removed a knife from the kitchen and entered the bedroom where the girl and two others were playing.
He went after the 5-year-old, stabbing her multiple times in the chest and back. The girl was taken to a hospital. Her condition is not publicly known.
Police say Wells, who suffers from a traumatic brain injury that affects his cognitive function, was arrested for first degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
