Olympic hero and former Nebraska Cornhusker Rulon Gardner will be among the contestants on the upcoming season of "The Biggest Loser."
Season 11 of the weight-loss show premieres Jan. 4 on NBC. The 39-year-old Gardner, of Logan, Utah, is among 22 contestants competing to lose weight and win $250,000.
Gardner was a 1993 All-American for the Huskers and a two-year letterman after transferring from Ricks Junior College in Idaho.
The defining moment of his career came in the 2000 Olympics, when he shocked the sports world with a 1-0 overtime victory over Russia's Alexander Karelin in the Greco-Roman super heavyweight gold-medal match. Karelin was a three-time Olympic gold medalist and had not lost an international match in 13 years.
Gardner has been inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
