Whether the Heartland is in the midst of a drought or not, it is their job to keep the grass green.
Greg Jones is in charge of keeping the greens, green at the Champions Run golf course in West Omaha. He says they water deep and infrequent. This means they give their grass a really good soak, but not every night.
“As the water goes down, the roots will actually chase after the water looking for water," Jones said. "So, they become stronger and healthier.”
Jones says people shouldn't water their lawns as much as possible. This he says could actually damage lawns.
