Katie Vanzago talks about running from her home--with her baby boy in her arms. As she stood outside, she started believing her husband didn't make it.

Vanzago says, "I grabbed my son and I ran outside, I put him in the car. I drove up the street, locked the doors and went back for my husband because I could hear him calling my name and then a fire started. I called 911 and then another explosion happened. I couldn't get to my husband."

The 911 calls are emotional. You can hear Katie screaming, "Please, please, please. God, please. Oh Dear God! I can't find my husband."

Admist explosions, fire and panic-Katie went back for her husband.

Vanzago says, "I just couldn't get to him and so I had thought I lost him and I thought they were just taking him to the hospital as standard precaution. I thought he was gone."

Katie was sleeping when the explosion happened. The mother of two works overnight as a nurse. Her older daughter was at school when the fire broke out.

"I heard a loud explosion and I felt, it felt like somebody took me by the shoulders and just put me downstairs."

The fire killed the family dog and cat. Brad was rushed to the hospital.

Katie says he's in bad shape. Brad lost his left eye and hand, and part of his right foot. He has severe burns, and his lungs are filled with toxins.

Channel 6's Chase Moffitt asks, "Are you able to talk to him? Do you think he can hear you?"

Vanzago says, "I know he can. I talked to him today to tell him how much everybody loves him and that everything is going to be ok. I keep telling him that my son is ok."

If you would like to help the Vanzago family, there is a fund set up at Wells Fargo.
