A Beatrice woman has been accused of misappropriating more than $100,000 from the co-op where she worked.
Fifty-year-old Jodi Dewey is charged with unauthorized use of a financial transaction device and theft by unlawful taking in Gage County Court. A hearing is set for Oct. 7.
Earlier this year, Farmers Co/op/Cenex reported about $114,000 in financial discrepancies, prompting an investigation. Authorities say Dewey was found to have made inappropriate charges to company accounts and made unauthorized write-offs to employee and customer accounts, among other things.
Dewey had been the officer manager for the co-op. She no longer workers there.
Her attorney says Dewey is cooperating with authorities and that he doesn't believe there was criminal intent.
