The former director of the Grand Island Community Foundation has been given 120 days in jail and five years of probation for stealing from the organization.
Lisa Katzberg had pleaded guilty in March after prosecutors lowered the charge. The 46-year-old was sentenced Wednesday by Judge Teresa Luther in Hall County District Court.
Prosecutors say Katzberg embezzled thousands of dollars between June 1, 2009, and June 15, 2012. Officials say Katzberg has repaid more than $34,000. The judge said Katzberg still must pay nearly $7,300 more.
The foundation is an umbrella organization that handles money from a variety of donors.
