Energy for Life
It's a wonderful way to honor Baby Jonah Ritterbush & others who suffer from Mitochondrial Disease. The 1st annual "Energy for LIfe Walkathon" is happening in Omaha.
After Jonah was born, he never got to leave the hospital. His mother, Dana, says he had Mitochondrial Disease. Dana and her husband had no idea he suffered from it until after Jonah was born. He started running a high fever at the hospital. 67 days after entering the world, Jonah Ritterbush passed away. He never got to go home to the nursery his parents had for him.
Dana started a mission to help others by becoming an ambassador for the Omaha Chapter of the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation.
A walk is coming up:
Saturday, September 20th
It starts at Miller's Landing, 151 Freedom Park Road.
Dana is hoping that this will bring support for other families in the area who are affected, as well as bring much needed awareness about mitochondrial disease.
