A Nebraska volunteer firefighter has been sentenced to probation after driving a fire truck under the influence last May.
Rodney Lovell, 53, crashed the truck while responding to a fire in Valparaiso. He missed the turn and went into the ditch.
Saunders County investigators said he failed a field sobriety test. A breath test indicated a blood-alcohol level of 0.104. The legal limit is .08.
Lovell, of Ceresco, pleaded No Contest to DUI – 1st Offense. His license was revoked for 60 days. He was sentenced to 9 months probation.
