The National Weather Service continues the heat advisory through Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures once again on Tuesday will rise to the upper 90s however high humidity will make it feel like 105 to 110 degrees.
Omaha Police say the victim of a crash early Monday morning will survive. However, 31-year-old Justin Porter suffered serious injuries including a fractured femur.
Police were called to the crash scene near 61st & NW Radial Highway just after one in the morning. They found that Porter’s 2001 Pontiac Grand Am drove onto the raised median and struck a tree.
Porter was transported to the Nebraska Medical Center.
Police say they expect to issue citations at a later date. They are investigating speed and alcohol use as factors in the crash.
