Early morning accident on Saturday south of the metro. Cass County sheriff's deputies, Plattsmouth EMS and Plattsmouth Fire responded to a one-vehicle accident near 17952 Pioneer Trail north of Plattsmouth at 4:49am.

The Cassgram reports Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann advised that deputies determined a 2005 Dodge Neon was westbound on Pioneer Trail when the vehicle slid off the roadway and into a grove of trees. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with an unconscious male determined to be the driver, 22-year-old Dalricus Harris, age 22, of Plattsmouth. Harris was transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center by Plattsmouth EMS.

Brueggemann said speed and alcohol were believed to be contributing factors in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
