A man from Virginia might be counting his blessings after falling asleep at the wheel in southeastern Nebraska. The Gage County Sheriff’s office says 47-year-old Jim Rhine’s pickup left the road and flipped off a bridge.
The 1994 Ford F-150 landed on its top after hitting a bridge guard rail. The awoken Rhine wa able to get out of the vehicle and walk to a nearby farm where he called 911. He was taken to Beatrice Community Hospital by relatives where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The crash was reported at 7 a.m. Wednesday just south of South 134th Road & B Line Road near Island Grove, Nebraska.
