Driver Dies After Icy Crash

A 51-year-old man has died three days after he was injured in a crash off an icy rural highway in south-central Nebraska.

The Kearney Hub reports that Tommy Wheeler died Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

The Harlan County Sheriff's Office says Wheeler was driving on Nebraska Highway 46 about two miles north of Oxford when he lost control of his pickup on the slick roadway. The truck slid into a roadside ditch, struck a fence and rolled.

Wheeler was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital in Holdrege and then to Good Samaritan.
