A driver stopped for speeding in Lincoln Thursday morning was arrested for his fifth offense felony driving while intoxicated.
A Nebraska State Patrol trooper pulled over a northbound Mercedes on Interstate 180 near Cornhusker Highway around 2:20 a.m. The trooper smelled the odor of alcohol.
Twenty-eight-year-old Thomas Manning of Lincoln failed a field sobriety test and refused a preliminary breath test. He was placed under arrest and taken to Lancaster County Corrections.
Manning also faces charges of felony driving under suspension and having no proof of ownership.
