Dozens Of Arrests In DUI Enforcement
The Omaha Police Department made 84 drunken driving arrests and issued more than 500 citations during its participation in a national law enforcement campaign to combat drunken driving.
OPD says it issued 529 citations during the "You drink, you drive, you lose" campaign from December 14th through January 1st. That included 154 speeding tickets and 13 charges of minors being in possession of alcohol.
Officers worked extra hours during the campaign, thanks to a $25,000 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
