The Douglas County Courthouse is turning 100. On Saturday, residents and officials gathered at the courthouse to celebrate.
Along with birthday cake and clowns, there were also displays inside the courthouse of the building's history.
“I think people need to recognize the beautiful historic buildings, you don't find those around anymore," said District 2 Commissioner Pam Tusa. "We use this every single day and it's still beautiful as ever and I think people need to recognize that.”
The courthouse opened October 1, 1912.
