He had a hard time finding a job, so he created one. The man is delivering groceries for a living, a service many of us might find useful.
Vanelle Caldwell lives a busy life. "I work about 12-14 hour shifts everyday and I'm pregnant. So it gets pretty hectic to do curriculum, cooking and cleaning, and doing paperwork, it gets really hectic," Caldwell said.
Caldwell runs a day care in her home and doesn't have the time to shop for groceries. That is where Eric Barrett and his business Omaha Fast Food can help. "We're bringing something to you that nobody else is doing and we're bringing it to you at an affordable price," Barrett said.
He and a friend came up with the idea after his stepfather mentioned the hassle of buying groceries. "It's developed into something that our customers really enjoy," Barrett said.
All you need to do is visit their website, pick your groceries, and check out. "We're bringing something to you that nobody else is doing and we're bringing it to you at an affordable price," Barrett said.
The price is $9.99 for delivery the same day, and $4.99 for next day delivery. "If you can get your entire weekly grocery order done in 5 minutes, how can you beat that," Barrett said.
A search of local stores turned up one that offers a similar service. At Hy Vee, you can get your groceries delivered for a percentage of your bill, but you have to set it up during business hours.
Barrett hopes more people find his service as helpful as Vanelle Caldwell does. "It saves me time, with being pregnant and working long hours it's really hard," Caldwell said.
"This is my dream. There is something you get out of it because you're helping. Everyday you're helping somebody," Barrett said.
