A woman and her dog are okay after fire destroyed their home in Firth, Nebraska, south of Lincoln, Thursday night.
The woman awakened by her dog found the house filling with smoke just before 8 p.m. She called 911 while driving to a neighbor.
The Nebraska State Fire Marshal's office hasn’t determined the cause of the fire, but says it started inside a wall.
The woman was taken to Bryan East hospital in Lincoln where she was treated for smoke inhalation and released. The dog was not hurt.
