Voters recalled three Dodge school board members by nearly a 2-to-1 margin.
Recalled members include board president Brian Doernemann, vice president Dan Wisnieski and board member Tim Meyer.
Doernemann and Meyer each were recalled by a 292-162 margin (64-36 percent), and Wisnieski was recalled by a 290-165 margin (64-36 percent).
The school boards in Dodge and Howells agreed in May to merge the districts in June 2012. The districts are sharing resources this year.
The merger was approved by the State Committee for the Reorganization of Schools.
Gerald Maresh, one of the people who spearheaded the recall, said he believes the recall vote shows that the large majority of people in the district did not want to merge with Howells.
Maresh said many people were disappointed that Dodge's board didn't look at other options like West Point or Logan View.
Maresh said the issue has divided people in Dodge.
A lawsuit to stop the merger has been filed in Dodge County District Court.
