Omaha police quickly apprehended a suspect in a chilling case of burglary and attempted sexual assault. A 27-year old woman called police at 3:47pm Monday to say she fought off a man who broke into her home. They are investigating whether he cut off power to the woman’s home first.

The woman says when her power went out at her home near 36th and Webster, she walked to a neighbor’s home to find out if their power was out too. When she returned to her home, she was grabbed from behind. A man held her in place and covered her mouth in an attempt to muffle her screams. The woman was able to fight the man and scare him to the point that he ran from her home.

She provided police a description of the attacker. Officers saw a man matching the description about three blocks away, 33rd & Burt Street. On Friday, police announced the arrest of 19-year old Robert L. Fountain. He was booked for burglary and attempted first degree sexual assault.
