Summer memories on display for Merritt Beach. The Cass County Historical Society Museum’s summer newsletter says there will be a temporary exhibit at the museum from next Tuesday (7/30) to October 27th that will feature a collection of photographs, postcards, scrapbook pages and other memorabilia from the popular summertime location that attracted visitors from all directions. The “Beautiful Merritt Beach” exhibit items are from a recently-donated collection from Nancy Merritt Martin.
The Cassgram reports Merritt Beach was in operation from 1930 to 1989, according to the newsletter. (For those of you new to the county, Merritt Beach was the lake just south of the Platte River on the east side of Highway 75.)
A current exhibit at the museum is “Aprons.” Many beautiful hand-made aprons are on view through August 25th.
The museum is open noon to 4pm Tuesday through Sunday through October and then is closed on Sundays too beginning in November.
