A DUI suspect is now facing charges after leading officers on a high-speed chase in Omaha Friday night.
Two officers in the area of 30th and Sorensen Parkway just before 8:30 p.m. received a report of a Chevy Tahoe driving recklessly. Officers located the vehicle and drove behind it at Florence and Storz Expressway. The officers saw the vehicle cross the center line several times and when the driver corrected she drove onto the shoulder. They then attempted to stop the car, but the driver, 32-year-old Amber Johns, refused to pull over and kept going.
The vehicle continued with top speeds reaching 60 mph. Johns ended up pulling over at 14th and Storz. She was arrested and faces charges of reckless driving, DUI and flight to avoid arrest.
