An Omaha attorney who specializes in DUI cases bonded out of jail on Thursday after being arrested for DUI.
Robb Gage, 35, was involved in a crash Tuesday night near the courthouse.
Bill Baker says he saw the driver of a Lexus rear-end another car stopped at a traffic signal at 19th and Douglas around 9:30pm.
He says the driver didn't stop and crashed the vehicle a block later.
"I saw that he got out and saw that he was running. I chased him on foot. Told him to stop -- but he kept running and I put him on the ground," said Baker, who chased him for a block before tackling him.
"He said he wasn't going to do anything stupid because he is a DUI defense attorney in Omaha. I thought he was joking at first and said, 'Really?' He goes - 'Yeah! I practice here in Omaha.'"
According to the accident report, the attorney's blood alcohol level was 0.221 -- nearly three times the legal limit for driving.
It's the third time Robb Gage has been arrested for DUI.
"It's like a police officer robbing a bank and getting caught," said Baker. "It's totally an oxymoron."
