It is easy to spot the stars of the Shrine Circus they are the ones under the spotlight.
Whether it is a bicycle riding bear or the always popular clowns everyone has a favorite act at the circus.
Caylin Shoquette says, "Clowns and things, everything."
Except for Caylin Shoquette this is her first trip to the circus. Caylin is seeing for the first time all of the mid-air ballerinas and trampoline acts. This is a reward for Caylin and her classmates because they completed DARE training.
Shoquette believes the information will help her for years to come.
Caylin Shoquette says, "It meant a lot it helped me make good decisions. It talks about making good choices not just with drugs and alcohol with everything, just hard decisions to make with friends and stuff."
By the looks on the faces of the crowd the circus was a big hit with the first timers and those who have been in these seats before. It is the same excitement the Shriners see every year with every crowd.
Bob Klesath says, "The kids get out of it a great thrill of seeing the circus and all the things that go on, the schools just love to give them an opportunity to be here and the Shriners love them."
But the biggest applause was for the DARE and GREAT teachers brought out of the shadows and under the lights where all the stars in the circus belong.
This is the 82nd annual Tangier Shrine Circus. It runs through Sunday. Tickets are available at the Qwest Center, the Omaha Civic Auditorium box office and all area Hy-Vee stores. Click here for more information.
