A single car crash, just after 6 o'clock Tuesday morning injured a 28-year-old Omaha man. It happened near the intersection of 58th and Center Streets.
Police say Robert Rand was driving his 2002 Saturn eastbound on Center, when he lost control of the vehicle. They say his car drifted off the road, south of Center, and struck two wooden power poles. The collision snapped both poles in half.
Rand was taken to Creighton University Medical Center in serious condition and treated for a leg injury. He's expected to be okay.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, investigators said. But they did ticket Rand for careless driving and collision with a fixed object.
Center Street was closed for nearly 45-minutes while crews worked to restore power in the area, and clear the debris from the road.
