Sarpy County Sheriff's Department deputies say 65-year-old Patricia Arp is lucky to be alive after crashing her car in Papillion Thursday morning.
A witness said the westbound car went off Platteview Road, down a 30-foot embankment and into a creek bed near South 63rd Street around 10:30 a.m.
Investigators said Ms. Arps was alert and talking when they reached her. She was taken to Alegent Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha by medical helicopter. She was listed in critical condition Thursday evening.
No word on what might have caused her to lose control of the vehicle.
