Crash Pushing Car Into Traffic

Highway 34 crash late Monday afternoon. One vehicle hit another from behind and pushed it into oncoming traffic.

Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann advised deputies along with Eagle/Alvo Fire and Rescue and Southeast Rescue out of Lincoln responded to the accident at the intersection of Highway 34 and 202nd Street in Eagle.

The Cassgram reports the investigation determined an Oldsmobile Intrigue driven by Jennifer Powers, age 36, Eagle, was stopped in the westbound lane at the intersection of Highway 34 and 202nd and was waiting to turn left when a Toyota Corolla driven by Katherine Knight Dimaio, age 43, Lincoln, also westbound on Highway 34, hit the Oldsmobile in the rear causing the Oldsmobile to go into the eastbound lane and into oncoming traffic of Highway 34. The Oldsmobile then hit a Chrysler 300, driven by Charlene Larsen, age 67, Eagle head-on. All vehicles involved sustained heavy damage.

All three drivers were taken to Bryan West in Lincoln with injuries.

Only one person was found to be wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
