The accident report received Friday morning just before 5:30am turned out not to be a rollover accident as first thought.
Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann advised a 2013 Ford pickup driven by 41-year-old Michelle M. Deal of Weeping Water was eastbound on Highway 1 when it went off the road to the south and struck a utility pole west of Murray. She told deputies she had fallen asleep. She was complaining of head and chest pain and was transported to the trauma center by Murray Rescue.
The air bags of the vehicle were not deployed and the only damage that was sustained to the vehicle was the license plate that fell off the front bumper, Brueggemann told the Cassgram.
