Morning commuters who travel along Highway 50 hit a snag Tuesday morning. Eastbound Highway 50, over Interstate 80, slowed to a crawl after a crash that involved four vehicles.
It happened just before 7 a.m. A Sarpy County Sheriff's Sergeant said some vehicles suddenly applied their brakes while waiting at a light, to turn onto eastbound I-80. A couple of them collided, without much in the way of damage.
However, when the semi-truck behind those vehicles stopped, the utility vehicle behind it wasn't as fortunate. That driver hit the back of the semi, with the force of the collision sending a quarter panel through the driver's side. He was pinned, briefly, and taken to the hospital by ambulance. He's expected to be okay.
The wreckage was hauled away by 8 a.m., with traffic beginning to return to normal at that point.
